Lol, I wouldn't say stupid. But it definitely was a bit of a letdown. Although, the first hour and a half kept me interested (plot-wise), and the superb animation quality had me glued to the screen the whole time.

No the movie takes place between the third and the fourth book but mainly the third one - I read this on Wikipedia. And in the trailer you can see Lebannen who doesn't exist in the first two books and Tehanu, too! .. Tehanu should look a bit more scarier..

To make some thing clear. The story takes place between the first two books, and is made up by Ghibli. Ursula K. Le Guin was not entirely pleased with the result, wanting Mizaki-not his son Goro to make it. Notable is that the movie contains a grizzly father-murder... Hello? Freud anyone?
