Yes true Soviet Union did not win this war,cause i think the afghanistan's are survivor and they are home in the mountains.Soviet army had many suffered losses thats why they are stoped this war,and i bet no army on this earth can win a war in afghanistan,cause this is a confusing country.But for me is this indifferent cause i think a war is never the right way.

So what if russians killed civilians? USA did same in vietnam, burning down villages, raping, and killing civilians? You sit near computers and say how bad someone is. lets see you fight in a war and loose your friends, lets see how good you will treat civilians... because in war there are friendlies and enemy, there is no civilians. Just wives cooking food for mujahadeen returning from battle, already marks them as enemy...

BTW-I think you must go to the link posted here under "more info" that is about the author of the play and the film. It will tell you why he wrote the play and screenplay. I have his book of plays--Wm. Mastrosimone is respected and insightful.

Everyone's being so nationalistic here--yet, I do not see any Afghanis checking in to comment. What would they say about all of this? No matter who built what on the Afghan soil -other than the things built by the Afghan peoples themselves--most of it was blown to smithereens, and many were executed. This film was made to be an anti-war message--and here you mopes are pointing fingers. {shakes head} It is easy to see why the hard lesson is never learned.

Afghans did not terrorize any one they exercised their right to have a sovereign coutnry which every people and nations has a right to Afghanistan was never your so I dunno what the FUCK are you talking about. If SCOTLAND chooses to be free there is not much England can do about it they have a right to be if they want to Scotland is Scotland not England and does not belong to England.... There were only several tunnels in Afghanistan and you build 2 of them the rest were there when you came. & you build those two tunnels when the Mujahideens destroyed 3 of the one that were already there in ambushing your troops and cutting off your supply roots. No reads were build by you, no power stations thats a bull crap lie. The pipe line was again for the same reason to send oil and gas to your bases not to afghan homes & people.

No the only ignorant one here is you, for actually thinking that Russians saved afghans, I guess the Soviet propaganda did not wear off yet. You build bunkers and bases and the essensials needed for the SOVIET TROOPS not for afghans, you build stuff there for your self because you needed them to win the war and you though you were going to win the war.
