This is exactly the case. If we started formimg thought with substance through observance of televised programming, what control could religion or government have over us? All massively distributed media is filtered, and we see what has been deemed "safe" for us to see, in the simplest cases. In the worst cases, we are offered programming that only exists to lure our cognitive processes away from the questions that truly need answering... split 3 or 4 times to allow for product advertisements.

within the infinite, is all potential that exists within space. For space is the infinite, and space (as physicists know) is not empty at all. We are gods creation, existing within gods creation. We live through Brahman, and brahman (the eternal self) lives through us. Brahman is the stuff we are. Brahman is reality. We are in gods dream, just as much as we are his creation. Oh yeah, you know everything. God came down from his place and told you we were nothing but characters in his dream. I really can't get mad with you because you are innocent, an innocent person in the life looking for the truth. But how can you be so certain that we are in Gods' dream? Did He/She or they come and tell you that we were characters in a dream. If people believe in religion, they'll believe in anything.

You may be right that was their style, but then again you might not be. For example, in other fields like Art, Literature, the work has played a part in driving their creators mad. So it could happen to a mathematician. Especially since its so much more abstract than other fields, and requires so much solitary work. The documentary doesn't say for certain one way or another their work made them crazy, it leaves the question open. That's why its interesting.

What could Cantor have seen that made him go mad? Please, I am pretty sure his schizophrenic journey began before he even started working on the infinity problem. For some reason, people always like to bring mystery to everything. He was searching the meaning of infinity and he came to discover that infinity was a cow with one ball, this drove Cantor crazy. John Nash went mad, but he didn't go mad because he saw infinity. It has to do with life style I guess, instead of all this MYSTERY.

Furthermore, atheism is the belief of no god. you cant just consider if their was a god. then you would be partially agnostic. For all you or me know... or anyone for that fact, we don't know for certain if there is a god, we all have faith.

Qubix2008, you cant sit here and spread your message of hate and pity and honsetly think that it will change anything. in my opinion you have to realize that you cant say you know that suicide isnt an option or god exists. The most brilliant and most dangerous part of our minds is possibilities. And possibilities are proven with science, and math proves science. You also cant just sit there pouting on the "WHY?! WHY WAS I BORN?! WHY IS THE WORLD IMPOSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND?!" scenario.

Killing yourself makes no sense.Suicide is not an option, as you will never end up anywhere after you die. If there were a god, i would be mad at him for 3 reasons: 1-bringing me into this world, without asking for my opinion, 2-making the world impossible to understand and most importantly, 3- Taking my life once i start enjoying it... But, as I am an atheist, i have chosen to search for a meaning in science (theoretical physics), and not isolate myself from society, like these dudes...
