personally i thought they'd ruined the game as soon as i saw you could buy your ammo! you could never have done that in MGS 1 or 2, so why make the game incredibly easy by pretty much giving people infinite ammo?

if you watch the cutscenes where it says the syringe shuts down nanomachines, and put that with his repeatedly saying that he is immortal so long as the nanomachines are in place...i thought it was pretty obvious and got it on the first try.

I thought it was pretty obvious to use the syringe on him. Vamp virtually begs you to use it on him from the beginning. You shouldn't shoot your way through the game :( Sneaking is much more fun.

there is a face camo item that you obtain once you defeat the first of the beauty and the beast unit (laughing octopus). it already has some default camo faces stored one of which is snake (MGS2) or snake w/ bandana (MGS2). later on you get snake (MGS1) which is kinda awful and painful to watch =P

use the syringe. When his life goes down go behind him and grab him and press triangle to inject it.
