Okinawan IS Japanese, it's just another dialect- kinda like UK English versus American English or Spain's Spanish versus Mexican Spanish. Some times dialects are very similiar in SOUND but are so far apart in grammar/word meaning that it ultimately makes little to no sense if one is only accustomed to one dialect of a language.

Thank you. The answer I'm looking for. But now I'm quiet confused. Some parts, they ARE singing in Japanese. Such as where the old man sings "umi yo, uchuu yo, kami yo, inochi yo". That is clearly Japanese.

It says on his bio page in SEVERAL SITES that he's Okinawan. He just had a few changes done to himself [face lift, etc]. He looks it in his older photos. Who cares where he's from though really. He's a excellant Singer. No uses of arguing or something so trivial. Everyone has their own opinions
